Project Overview

A large steel group in Shandong, committed to advancing the national "Zero-Waste City" and circular economy strategies, decided to invest in building a large-scale water-quenched slag micro-powder production line. The core project requirement is to stably produce S95 grade water-quenched slag micro-powder compliant with the national standard (GB/T 18046), fully replacing cement clinker. Following rigorous technical and economic analysis, the client ultimately selected Cronus Machinery, adopting the CRLM Vertical Mill which integrates efficient drying with powerful grinding.

Project Details

Water-Quenched Slag Raw Material Silo → Belt Feeder → Vertical Mill

Wet water-quenched slag stored in the raw material silo is precisely and continuously fed into the CRLM Vertical Mill via the belt feeder for grinding and pulverization. The vertical mill is equipped with an integrated hot air system that utilizes waste heat from kilns and hot air from the auxiliary hot air furnace to simultaneously dry the water-quenched slag during the grinding process.

Dust Collection System → Water-Quenched Slag Micro-powder

The dried and ground water-quenched slag powder rises with the airflow to the classifier at the top of the mill. Through variable-frequency speed control, the separation intensity is precisely regulated. Coarse water-quenched slag particles that do not meet the 325 mesh (S95) requirement are separated and fall back onto the grinding table for re-grinding. Qualified water-quenched slag micro-powder is then carried with the airflow into the dust collection system, where it is separated and collected.
